Run to the Riviera Rally June 2010

Our first Rally was held at Liverton FC, near Bovey Tracey on the weekend 11th to 13th June 2010 and luckily the weather was gorgeous! Organised by our club and Liverton FC it attracted scooterists from mostly the south of the country and thanks to the efforts of all those involved it was a great success. Liverton FC had many volunteers and we must say a big thank you to all of them for the hard work they put in before the Rally and over the weekend. So a big thanks go to Dave, Chris, Sue, Sally, Alan, Jamie, Ian, Gordon, Steve W, Steve H, Brian, Nicky, Rob, John, Paddy, Matt, Laura, Colin, Colin's wife, Tony, Robbie, Brandon and Trudie for all you've done and hope you enjoyed the event. Thanks also to the security staff provided by Liverton FC and Showmen SC Shaun and Chunkie for keeping an eye on everyone. And not forgetting the local residents who were very forgiving!!! Thank you

Apart from some delicious food dished up by the FC we also had The Soleroom Disco staring non other than Bernie himself and his back up DJ Dave who also did a great job pressing the right buttons on Bernie's Disco, A Parts Fair which included Funkspeed stylish clothing, Riviera Spares and Scooter Care, A Scooter show with 5 trophy prizes supplied by Liverton FC, A ride out to Torbay through the beautiful Devonshire countryside to Paignton and Torquay, A wellie chucking contest for charity which was won by Paul Binge (22.40mtrs!) and Tracy, A football sweepsatack, TV's in the club house with a large screen TV in the marquee for watching England's first world cup match and a prize draw for a brand new BOX crash helmet which was won by Pauline from Bridlington. Coincidentally her husband won the longest ridden trophy as they had ridden 2 up all the way from Bridlington in Yorkshire! Well done to them both!

Also thanks to all the clubs and solo riders that attended the rally and made it a big success. We couldn't have done it without you and hope you had a good time too. We hope to be holding Run to the Riviera Rally again next year so watch this webspace! Local newspaper the Herald Express were there snapping away and managed to put a couple of pics in the paper!
