FRIENDS OF TORBAY MODS!

George (centre) and his friends in Coventry in the 60's. Where are they now?

LEFT: Roger (friend of Torbay Mods after seeing us at the BMAD Festival) gave us this photo of himself with Chris on the back of his red and white Lambretta GT200 back in 1968! Taken somewhere in Torbay!

RIGHT: Copy of letter from Peter Carroll in the Herald Express. Tues May 6th 2008. 'Memories of Max Bygraves - A real star' in 1967. Val Edgecombe (second from right) and her other half also came up to Torbay Mods display at the BMAD Festival on Sunday 4th May for a chat about the good ole days! She hasn't changed a lot...well still has a big smile on her face anyway! Nice to see ya Val

Spike drinks in the Florida Bars! (that's a double!!)

Above: Roger Whiting (known as Spike and friend of Frank Moulder) has lived in Florida for 30 years and got in touch with us after seeing our website. He was a Mod with Frank in Plymouth in the 60s and now owns a 1964 Lambretta TV175, Italian. He is in the centre of the group shot in the yellow tank. The guy to his right is also from England on a Spanish 200. The guy to his left is Kieran Walsh, president of the Lambretta club USA. He goes to all the major European rallys! Apparently all the lights work on Spikes TV including the fairy lights!

PeeJay and Barry ride all the way from the New Forrest!

Crawley Club member on holiday

New Forrest SC members ride all the way down to join in on The Run To The Sun which is held once a year when Bristol Mod Scooter Club come down to Devon. Organised by the Riviera Scooter Club this is an event not to be missed and it was a privilege to have a new club join us from 130 miles along the coast. We are hoping to organise a return visit in the not to distant future! Great to see you guys and thanks for coming down

Crawley club member Phil brings his Lambretta TV175 on holiday with him to Torquay so he can meet up with Torbay Mods !!! Nice to meet you Phil and hope you enjoyed the ride to Dartmoor!

Here's a picture of Del's shinny Auto Vespa which he claims is better than the traditional manual gear change type which tends to wear out the clutch due to the heavy traffic where he lives. Lucky Del has just moved to the Costa Del Sol in Spain and no doubt beats the jams easily on this comfy scoot. Nice to hear from him and he is another friend of TMSC from abroad who contacted us after seeing the website!  Buena suerte con la vida nueva en Espana Del!

Phil from Bournemouth is a BIG fan of Torbay Mods and he wears one of our Polo tops to prove it! Phil hasn't got a scooter to run around on yet but it wont be long before you see him on the streets in Bournemouth! Here we see Phil on a mates Lambretta Li probably thinking how nice it would be to ride it to Torbayl! Nice one Phil

Paul from Paignton recently showed me his pride and joy which his very considerate wife allowed him to keep in their front room! I would be tempted to ride it round the room at the very least but Paul says it is identical to the model he had in the 60's and therefore its so valuable to him that it would be too risky to take on the road. Paul is a very keen Vespa fan and has others stored away in a secret Devon location. Maybe one day he will buy a bigger house to keep them all in!

Here we see Phil Courtney on the left and Phil again with brother Gerald on the right. They're from Exeter and are friends of member Terry Styles. Oh yes, the scooter by the way is an Li 150 Series 1 Frame Breather and this photo was taken in 1967!

Mike from South Brent sent this picture in of his Vespa GS150. We meet him every year on the megga run and some bike nites on paignton green. Mike is a keen scooterist and is in the AFSC and LGSC
